Please note that I have not always entered the dates that are included in the collections, as I suspect they will change as more items are digitized. But there are several that are indeed available. So go for it – find your Minnesota ancestors and all the interesting articles that capture the stories of their lives. There are almost 4,000 newspapers that have been published in the North Star State – certainly not all of them are searchable online. Below is a list of where the titles are stored and the link so that you can access them. There are many free online newspapers also available on other sites and there are collections available on subscription sites. Several states use the Library of Congress Chronicling America site as their main central online site for searching old newspapers and currently, Minnesota has several newspapers available on that site. Proper planning ensures that growth initiatives are effectively implemented and managed. As part of Elk River's commitment to retain this low tax rate and a high quality of life, the City Council recently adopted a Growth Management Plan and an Economic Strategic Development Plan. Most significantly, for a community of its size, Elk River enjoys one of the lowest overall tax rates in the entire state of Minnesota. Programs may include industrial revenue bonds, tax increment financing, supplemental micro loans, tax abatement, venture capital funds, as well as full service community banking opportunities. The city and numerous local lenders provide financing to new and expanding businesses. This is due, in part, to a diverse group of businesses and industries located in Elk River. ![]() Employment opportunities continue to keep pace with significant population growth.
